Description

In the nineteen chronologically arranged stories in this anthology you will encounter some information about their Gods, some Viking history (such as their fights with monks and Christians), and some information about their daily living. In general, however, those wanting more information about these latter two should look for Jeff Linscott’s three volume series of Swain, the Viking, taken from Adventure Magazine, and written by Arthur D. Howden Smith. What we concentrate on here are Viking Myths and Legends. Those stories not supernatural, usually deal with various legends. You will encounter Norse Gods, aliens, Asgard, curses, dragons, giants, heroes, magic, Ragnarok, revenants, werewolves, witches, and more. As usual, we have taken great care in assembling this book. You will find well written stories that move rapidly along (with no dragging, even when dragons appear), a nice blend of famous vs. obscure authors, and a variety of themes. Take, for example, William Sharp (aka: Fiona Macleod). He was a poetic writer, whose works seem to have been mailed to us from Fairyland. But of his seven stories here, only three have been anthologized in science fiction or fantasy collections, and then only once. So please begin. We think you’ll enjoy what we’ve done.  6×9″, perfect bound binding, 420 total pages, ISBN: 9781943022441
